The Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, Inc. offers four programs through the Precision Manufacturing Training Program (PMTP): On-the-Job Training (OJT) Manufacturing Technologies Pathway Program (MTP) Industry Fast Track (IFT), and Basic Skills Transition Program (BSTP).
The On- the-Job Training (OJT) program provides immediate employment for participants. The OJT program will create an individualized OJT Contract between the precision manufacturing company and the REB. The employer will implement an OJT Training Plan jointly developed by the employer and the PMTP manager based on the results of the assessment series and the employer interview.
Springfield Technical Community College and Asnuntuck Community College will conduct the Manufacturing Technologies Pathway Program (MTP). The MTP will provide classroom and hands-on training using manual and CNC equipment for participants selected based on the results of the assessment series and an interview by the community college. College credit for specific courses will be awarded to program completers.
The Industry Fast Track (IFT) program partners Smith & Wesson and Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy as the training provider. The IFT will be a concentrated program designed to provide participants with the technical competencies required to obtain entry level employment as a machine/set-up operator.
The Basic Skills Transition Program (BSTP) program will be conducted at Springfield Technical Community College and Westfield Vocational Technical High School and will provide participants with the technical competencies to obtain entry level employment as a machine/ set-up operator.
